Terms of use.

These terms are between you and Design Value, a studio based in Chennai (Madras), Tamil Nadu, India, operating at designvalue.co. Mapster is a product of Design Value. Design collaborators may be named on the site; they are not the contracting party unless a separate writing says so.

• Company / we. Design Value, owner of Mapster.
• Product / Service. The Mapster website, studio, atlas and related pages.
• Poster. A file you design and download from the studio.
• You. The person or entity using the Service.
• Commercial use. Any use to sell, licence, advertise, or otherwise seek payment or business advantage, including prints offered for sale, client work, and stock.

Mapster is a freemium product. The free tier is for limited personal use: you may design a poster of a place you know, download it, print it for your own wall or as a gift, and keep the file. Features, resolution and volume may be limited. We may change what the free tier includes.

The Product is proprietary. You receive a licence to use it, not ownership of the studio, the code, the themes or the brand. See the EULA and licence.

You must not use Mapster, or posters made with it, for commercial purposes without our prior consent in email or in writing. That includes selling prints, using a poster in a paid brief, white-labelling the studio, or bulk production.

Ask first at hello@designvalue.co. Until we reply in the affirmative, commercial use is not permitted. A coffee or a tip is not a commercial licence.

Personal downloads at the resolution we offer on the free tier are allowed under these terms. Paid or higher tiers, if we offer them, have their own limits. We may refuse or throttle use that looks like bulk rendering.

Subject to the map-data licences below, you own the composition you make - caption, crop and theme choices - for personal use. Map data remains © OpenStreetMap contributors under the Open Database Licence. Keep the printed credit.

• Do not reverse-engineer, copy or resell the Service.
• Do not bulk-render tiles or strain OpenFreeMap, Nominatim or other providers.
• Do not use the Service for anything unlawful under Indian law.
• Do not remove the OpenStreetMap credit from a download you publish.

The Service is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, to the extent permitted by the Indian Contract Act, 1872 and other applicable law. We do not warrant uninterrupted access or that a map is complete.

To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, Design Value’s aggregate liability arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for Mapster in the twelve months before the claim, or one thousand Indian rupees (INR 1,000), whichever is higher. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 where they apply. Courts at Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any non-derogable consumer rights you have in India.

We may update these terms by posting a new version on this page. Continued use after a change is acceptance. See also the EULA, privacy and DPA.
