Design Value is the data fiduciary for Mapster. This notice is framed for the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other Indian law. We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity.
Section 01
Data fiduciary
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA), Design Value acts as the Data Fiduciary for personal data processed in connection with Mapster. We decide why and how that data is processed. There is no separate Mapster company.
Section 02
Legal basis
We process personal data on the bases available under the DPDPA and, where they apply, other Indian rules: to provide the Service you ask for (place search, the studio), for legitimate use of measurement so we can keep the Product working, and where you consent to analytics cookies. You may withdraw consent for analytics as described on the cookies page.
Section 03
What we collect
- Place search. The text you type is sent to our server and forwarded to Nominatim. We do not keep a search archive.
- Technical logs. Ordinary server logs (IP address, user agent, time) may be created when you load the site, for security and abuse prevention, and are kept only as long as needed.
- Analytics. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity collect usage data as described below.
- Email you send us. If you write to hello@designvalue.co, we keep the correspondence to reply.
Section 04
Analytics
We use Google Analytics (Google LLC / Google Asia Pacific) to understand how many people use Mapster, which pages they open, and roughly where the traffic comes from. Google may set cookies and process IP addresses and device data under Google’s terms and privacy policy.
We use Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation) to see how the studio is used - clicks, scrolls and session replays in aggregated or sampled form - so we can fix friction. Clarity may set cookies and record interaction data under Microsoft’s terms.
These tools are not required to design a poster. You can refuse or clear cookies in your browser. See cookies and the DPA.
Section 05
What stays on device
Your poster is drawn and encoded in the browser. We do not upload the design to Design Value’s servers. Map tiles are requested by your browser from OpenFreeMap. That request exposes your IP address to them, as any map would.
Section 06
Processors
- Google - Analytics. policies.google.com/privacy
- Microsoft - Clarity. privacy.microsoft.com
- Nominatim / OpenStreetMap - place search. Queries are forwarded, not stored by us.
- OpenFreeMap - vector tiles, requested from your browser.
Some processors are outside India. We rely on their published terms and on the DPDPA’s rules for cross-border transfer as notified by the Government of India from time to time.
Section 07
Your rights
Subject to the DPDPA, you may ask to access, correct or erase personal data we hold, or to withdraw consent for analytics. Because we do not keep an account or your posters, the data we hold is usually limited to emails you sent and analytics collected by Google and Microsoft. Write to hello@designvalue.co. We will respond as required by Indian law.
Section 08
Children
Mapster is not directed at children. Under the DPDPA, a child is a person under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have, write to us and we will delete it.
