Mapster is a proprietary product of Design Value. It is not open source. Third-party libraries and open map data keep their own licences, which we list below.
Section 01
Who owns it
Design Value, Chennai (Madras), Tamil Nadu, India, owns Mapster: the name, mark, themes, copy, and the original software we wrote to compose posters. Mapster is a product of Design Value, not a separate company and not a community-owned project.
Section 02
Freemium licence
We grant a limited personal licence to use the hosted Product in a browser and to keep downloads from the free tier. That licence is revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable. It is not a sale of the software and not an open-source licence.
Section 03
Commercial consent
Commercial use of the Product or of posters made with it requires prior consent in email or in writing from Design Value. Write to hello@designvalue.co. Silence is not consent. A tip does not purchase a commercial licence.
Section 04
Your posters
For personal use, you own the arrangement you make. Map data stays with its licensors. Leave the OpenStreetMap credit on the file.

Tech stack
Mapster is built on the following components. Each keeps its own licence. Their authors are not parties to your agreement with Design Value, and this table does not make Mapster open source. Licence names are the SPDX or vendor terms that typically apply; the copy shipped with each package is controlling.

- OpenFreeMap serves vector tiles built from that data.
- Nominatim powers place search. The Nominatim software is GPL-2.0; the geographic data remains ODbL.
